It
is appropriate to have an Order of Service booklet for a Catholic
Wedding. While this is not required, many guests are not Catholic
and would appreciate why we celebrate the various parts of the
service. St. Rose of Lima Parish is pleased to offer these suggestions
for couples who are planning to be married here or elsewhere.
Here
are a few suggestions as you prepare your Order of Service:
1.
It isn’t necessary to print the entire reading in your booklet.
Summaries of reading and their entire texts are available in our
Readings Page.
2. If your service is bi-lingual, you may want to print only the
translation of the part that will be proclaimed by the reader.
For example, if the reading is proclaimed in English, you may
want the translation synopsis in your Order of Service.
3. It isn’t necessary to print the entire Psalm. You may
choose to print only the refrain. The words for the refrain (the
congregation’s part) are available for your Order of Service.
4. It is always important to check with the priest or deacon about
your selections before you bring them to the printers.
5. It is never easy to determine how many Order of Service copies
you will need for your Wedding. Understand, however, that some
of your guests will RSVP only for the banquet portion of your
wedding day
6.
Go to the Plan Your Service
page to review your Order of Service. Feel free to copy
and paste your selections as you go along.
