Domestic Church
The Catholic family is the domestic church within a wider Church. Often,
people will say, “Let’s go to church.” In fact, Catholic
families are the church and they attend Sunday Mass with other members
of the Church. What does it mean to be a domestic Church? Check out this
helpful site: www.domestic-church.com
Fatherhood
Recent statistics show that Catholic Fathers and Evangelical Fathers spend
more time with their children than fathers in any other denomination.
Fathers who recognize that their life as a parent is a ministry in the
church are the best dads Catholic children can have. Here is a link to
help fathers and husbands to focus on their ministry as parents:

Raising a G Rated Family in an R Rated World
Raising children and teens in today’s world is very difficult. Violence,
drugs, pornography, and language used in most movies and on the internet
are enough to make parents throw their hands up and say, “What’s
the use of trying?” Being vigilant may very well be the biggest
cross that parents have to endure. But, Jesus said, “Take up your
cross each day and follow me.” Our parish wants to help you carry
your cross.
Here
are just a few helpful tips to keep your children living a G Rated life
in an R rated world.

Needs/Wants
Most children and teens, and even some parents, need coaching on how to
separate what they really need from what they want. Many children growing
up in the United States have more than they need. It is important to help
prioritize. Teach your children to see that most children in the world
do not have an x-box, cd, dvd, or tv. As a part of a family dinner discussion,
ask your children what they really need to survive? Could they survive
without food? Could they survive with God? Could they survive without
t.v.? You might want to see this for yourself. Turn your television off
and spend time with them by walking around the block. Usually, the need
for them to be with their parents is far greater than their need to be
entertained.
