Why Register? Members of St. Rose of Lima parish are those who live within our parish boundaries. Our boundaries are set by the Bishop of San Diego in order to make it easier for the pastor to care for a particular number of families. In the case of a house blessing, for example, the priests and deacons of St. Rose would assist those who are members of our parish and encourage the pastors of other parishes to care for their flock. Registering parishioners also gives our parish an accurate count of members within the boundaries. This count is given to our bishop and to the Vatican for an overall worldwide count of Catholics. Registration also gives our parish an account of how many people have celebrated their baptisms, first communions, confirmations and weddings. Finally, registered members can receive helpful mailings for Christmas, Easter, Holy Days and other parish events. If you are already registered, simply call the priest or deacon for your house blessing. If I do not live within the parish, may I register? If you have found that our parish is the worship place for you on Sundays, you are invited to become a member, even if you live outside of our boundaries. Many people choose to worship at Saint Rose for a number of reasons. Some work in the downtown area on Sundays or send their children to our parish school. Others have simply moved out of our boundaries and wish to remain active in the community. This map will help you see if you live within our parish boundaries.
