What is R.C.I.A.?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Introduction

If, for some reason, you have not received the powerful sacrament of Confirmation, we encourage you to do so!  The sealing of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation is the final sacrament of initiation into the Catholic Church

Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit—his action, his gifts, and his bidding—in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. (CCC: 1309)

If you are at least 18 years old, baptized Catholic, have received First Holy Communion, but have never received the sacrament of Confirmation, St. Rose offers classes for preparation twice a year.  This 12-week program is led by experienced faith-filled instructors using Dynamic Catholic/Matthew Kelly’s DecisionPoint multi-media confirmation program with online lectures and a free mobile app will guide candidate formation.

The 12-week series of classes are held in the Fall-September, culminating with Confirmation on the Feast of Christ the King/November; and in the Spring-February, culminating with Confirmation on the Feast of Pentecost/May.
The preparation for adults is quite different from that of children or young teens. The process is one of a small-group, adult learning experience. The focus of the program is to connect the practice of our Catholic faith to our experiences in our everyday lives.
Candidates are presented with opportunities for deeper realization of their faith and ways to live it out in the context of the parish community.

Scheduling.  The 12-week series is held in the Fall beginning in September, culminating with Confirmation on the Feast of Christ the King/November; and in the Spring-beginning February, culminating with Confirmation on the Feast of Pentecost/May. (Fall Schedule).

Classes are held in the DeFlores Library on Sunday evenings after the 5 p.m. Mass, from approximately 6:15 to 8:30 p.m.

What For many who participate in this program, it is an opportunity to see, for the first time, the faith of the Church with an adult understanding. Participants will look at how their image of God affects the way they are in relationship with Him and spend significant time connecting daily life with the underlying meaning of incarnation and Eucharist.
