Lima School
“Celebrates Service”
In
keeping with the National Catholic Educational Association’s
2008-2009 theme, St. Rose of Lima School for this coming school
year is “Celebrating Service”. Service is a long-standing
tradition in Catholic education and a foundation of church
social teaching. This year St. Rose of Lima School will reaffirm,
recognize, and honor community service. Through the school’s
Christian Action Program a very visible commitment to service
has been a major component of our educational mission. Our
students in record numbers are visiting nursing homes, collecting
and distributing food and clothing, helping with the feeding
of the homeless, donating monies to Holy Childhood and other
charitable organizations, and supporting in so many ways our
parish’s emergency assistance program. By putting together
service, knowledge, faith, and values our St. Rose of Lima
students will become well-rounded and successful contributors
and leaders in our society, communities, and world.
