Parent Status Letters #2

In this week's family envelopes you will find the second of three parent status letters for this school year. I am most grateful for the majority of our families that have fulfilled all their areas of obligation in a timely manner. However, there are a number of families that still have a ways to go in one or more areas. In the newsletter of March 27 th I wrote how important it was for our registered parish school families to use their weekly and monthly envelopes (also in the parent agreement). Fr. Dolan and I strongly feel that parents, as the primary educators of their children, must support and foster the Catholic values that we are instilling into our students. One of the ways to do this is to attend Sunday Mass (“Keep Holy the Sabbath Day”). Registered parishioners also have the responsibility to support the church in a manner that is appropriate to their means. Fr. Dolan does subsidize the school's budget and does expect that our families donate to the church.

Parent Help Needed! Service Point Opportunity

The St. Rose of Lima Parish in conjunction with the San Diego Organizing Project is in need of volunteers to collect signatures for the Children's Healthcare Initiative before and after all the Masses on Sunday, April 23. If you can volunteer your time, please contact Shirley Stoyack at 420-9197.
